Diesel? Really?

Magnaflow mufflers are said to sound good.

Head down to your local performance-oriented muffler/exhaust shop and talk with the techs there. Chances are they can point you in the right direction since they install and listen to exhaust all day. I've always had really good luck just explaining what I'm looking for in terms of performance, sound and price, and they figure it out from there.

Flow master and Borla sucks and don't sound as good as others. I like Magnaflow. Save money, go to exhaust shop and have them put 2.25-2.5 inch exhaust on with a header and high flow cat and high flow muffler and call it good. Master muffler did exhaust on my old 89 ranger 2.9 v6 with just a race style offroad muffler and boomer tip and sounded like a v8. That was with no cats and stock manifolds. I loved how deep and throaty and loud it was.

I run header, magnflow cat/muffler with 2.25" exhaust and no tail pipe and is loud for what it is and keeps a nice deep tone not to sound too rhaspy or pingy as if it were straight piped with no cat or muffler.

I might switch it up to a bullet style muffler or glass pack one day to try it and see how it sounds with a hollowed out cat.

it'll never sound like a diesel...

And uh.... I have a Borla on mine, and its pretty much just a more expensive magnaflow ( sounds exactly the same )

That's what I was going to recommend. Your own custom exhaust. You can make it sound somewhat like a diesel if you throw a turbo on it.

Sounds good and loud but still can tell it's not a magnaflow. Nice video.
Why pay more for the same exhaust then? It's not the same and I think magnaflow sounds better and even cheaper thrush mufflers sound better and more to my liking. That's just me though.

If you want a cat-back system try TRD part# PTR06-89960-11. It's nice to keep it Toyota, sort of. IMO it's just eaiser than piecing an exhaust together. Nice sound not too loud.

$510 plus shipping

Only a turbo will make it sound like a Diesel.

500 for a cat-back is over priced. You can build a cat-back and even buy some for half that. You can build full exhaust with header for 500.
