Weber 38 DGMS

Anybody have any experience with the Weber 38 DGMS. Got it installed but it has a gas return line that I thought was a vent line. Have gas coming out of the return line and I don't think it should be. Idles good and about 19 on the vacuum gauge. Has a "cough" on accelerating and doesn't run right cruising down the highway. I've tried calling Redline but we just play recorder tag and there email doesn't work. Just order a fuel pressure gauge because I've read that Weber carbs should only have 2.5 to 3lbs of pressure. No instructions came with the carb and very little info on the web.
