Exclamation Water up the exhaust...

... Hey y'all,
Just picked up a '92 4Runner 4x4 'bout a week ago,
went mudding today since it was raining out and those days are
precious here in the AZ, and got bogged out in a trench.
Water up most of the exhaust and the thing died on me, had it towed out
by an '08 Tundra and it hasn't started yet.
The water wasn't any more than 2.5 feet high but got enough of the way
up the pipes to kill it. The good semaritan that stopped to pull me out
thought that the water had gotten onto the battery and shorted it out
but I'm still getting power from that. Does anyone know what it could be?
And what I should do to get this wonder back up and running?

-Thanks.

Yeah, it turns over.
It just can't get it going all the way.

Did you check your distributor cap for water?

the muffler is likely full of water-you will probably need to drop it and drain it

just from re-reading other posts like the one where the dude's neighbors stuck the hose up his tailpipe....
