tryed the nut that holds the output shaft into the rear of your transfer case? the large nut inside backed off to where it was finger tight on mine. worth a look. you just have to drop the front of the shaft out.

I tightened the flange nut on my truck up chasing the same type of vibration. New U-joints helped some, but it's still there. The flange on my t-case will actually move side to side though, one of those side effects of having 260 thousand miles, my trans is trashed and my case needs rebuilt. Have you tried simply greasing the u-joints and slip yokes up? if not, it's a good place to start and it's usually something people neglect.

Technically, the pinion and t-case flange nuts are one time use parts. But I have re-used them if they are in good shape and I am able to get a good stake on the nut:

I have been having the same problem with the vibration you talk about through the shifter area at 35-40mph and under load or neutral, etc, etc, so I searched and read all your history on it. My 4Runner has 165,000 and the vibration/chatter has been getting steadily louder over a period of 3-6 months.
I just took it to Toyota dealer and they replaced the entire drive shaft assembly and re-torqued the flange bolts and that completely eliminated the problem.
Hope that helps.

I'm having the same problem with my 96' Tacoma. Toyota told me that I have a bent fwd drive shaft, but the wouldn't tell me how they came to that conclusion. I'm assuming they were just trying to get more money out of me. I was told that my transmission mounts were loose. Did you try tightening them? I know you said you insp. them.

Mine starts to vibrate around 30-35mph and around 55 it's horrible. Like you said, when I let of the gas around 55-60 the vibration is at it's worse. I'll let you know if I ever figure anything out.

i just put mine in the shop for the same thing , but when i had to get the state insp. done a few weeks ago , they told me that i needed to have the fr. pass. side axle replaced. since the cv boot was ripped. but i too was getting the whole vibration from 35 mph . i had the same problem a few years ago , and was fixed with the axle replacement. wow this seems like a problem on the 95............
