Vibration at 40-60 mph

I just installed a new elocker 3rd member into my 98 tacoma. Thankfully the loud bearing noise is gone, but now I have a vibration once I get up to about 40 mph, which goes away at about 60 mph. Also after driving I noticed that the 3rd member was quite warm. All my nuts and bolts are tight.

Also, after installation i noticed the locker wasnt functioning properly, it would make a clicking noise when trying to engage or disengage, but would not engage properly. Could this vibration relate to the locker, or could something with the drive shaft be out of alignment? The vibration wasn't there before I did the install. Got a road trip planned in a couple days could use some help, thanks!

if the elocker was just regeared. you need to break it in. the heat is from breaking in. hard to say where you vib is coming from but after i installed my elocker i noticed a vib around the speeds you said. i havent fixed it 100% yet but so far i kinda narrowed it down the pinon angle

Just disconnected the driveshaft from the rear end and rotated 180 degrees, reconnected it. Helped with about 70% of the vibration, its now more of a roughness. I didn't know these things needed to be broken in... is it normal for a new member to be slightly rough?

Oo u better read up on how to break them. You did regear. Right? Now the locker issue. You can drop the motor and slide the gear side to side to see if it's binding. Need to pin point where the issue is. Kinda late but I usually cycle the locker with the 3rd on the bench to make sure it works and the motor is ok

I didn't actually regear... the bearings were corroded and it was cheaper to get a remanufactured diff with a new r&p and bearings than it was to get mine rebuilt, so i've still got my stock 4.10s. I think you are right about the locker and sliding the gear, thats the next thing i'll try. I won't need the locker for a little while, this truck is set up for highway for now.
