valves are aggravating

I keep adjusting my valves (22R), and it seems like they loosen a few days to a week after I adjust them. Is there anything I can do to keep them from doing this? I have thought about getting some kind of high-temp glue and applying a bit of that to keep them tight. Right now I'm open to any advice as well as criticism as to what I may be doing wrong. By the way, I'm using baseline method to adjust them. If you have any questions for me ask away, as I'm not real sure about what info you need. Thanks, Sean

I know it may be a dumb question but they do have the lock nuts on right?

There is a torque spec for the nuts. I personally have never had any problems with them loosening. You may be suffering from rocker arm and tip wear which can cause adjustment issues if considerably worn. There are a number of threadlocks on the market. The red color us usually the toughest to break. Then there is the blue, etc in lower shear values. Only issue with Loctite is the parts have to be clean to work, not covered in oil. I would find a belville compression washer and use that under the nut. Search the internet for fasteners and with the dimension of the nut known, you can match the washer to the application. I would not suggest any other lock washer because they create metal shavings when loosened.

Everything should be on right, unless the previous owner put them together wrong or something. They seem to be holding up a little louder than they should be, but then again I haven't really been driving it all that often. With gas prices back up I'm trying to get as many mpg's as possible so I'm driving the 2wd. Speaking of the 2wd, I got the gas gauge working which makes me happy!
