trying to install new cam please help!!
alright, I've been stuck on this thing forever, and decided to give it another shot, I bought a comp cam for my 22r, and am in the process of putting it together, the question I have is do I need new cam bearings? I bought some but they don't seem to fit, but I'm afraid it will be too lose w/o them. any help appreciated guys.

x2, no cam bearings. where they sit is oiled but there aren't any bearings.
Or do you mean where the cam sits because when I put my new cam in it was tough to get the caps to set completely flat on the cam. I had to tap them ever so gently with a dead-blow hammer.
I'm still not sure exactly what you bought.

I bought a comp cam, not sure which one, I think the mild one, I believe they make three different levels for the 22r, anyways its been a few years ago so I don't have paperwork on it, but I did buy a set of cam bearings for it...granted O'rielys sold them to me, I just figured it needed them. oh, one more question, is it bad to block off the egr system on these motors? I bought an aftermarket header and made some block off plates.

some people do. there a few compenys that sell kits with all the block off plates.
i been thinking about it so let us know how it work out.
use lots of asimbly lube or gear oil on the cam when you put it in and dont mixup you caps.
