Transmission cost

Just for future reference,how much should a new 5spd 4x4 tranny cost for my 90 4runner?

when i got my runner it had a blown tranny so me and my uncle bought a rebuilt one for $550 and in a day we did the swap. oh and mine is a 90 with a v6 too. and it came with the rebuilt t-case as well

New will be a LOT. Call Toyota to find out. Rebuilt can be anywhere from $600-$1000. Used can be anywhere from free to $500, depending on the deal you find.

Stay away from the stealership!!! Rancho Toyota salvage yard is great. They are out of CA. I got a locker from them and they are a user/member on this site.

I bet they could hook you up at a fair price.
