transfer case oil/fill plug

first off i noticed transfer case oil leaking from the bottom of my shifter. So i replaced that seal and then i decided that i was going to go ahead and change the transfer case oil. When i took out the transfer fill plug oil came pouring out. Now i know when you fill it up you are suppose to fill up till the fluid starts pouring back out but i am guessing that approximately at least 1 quart of oil came from the fill plug. I wonder if there was too much fluid in the t-case and was causing this to leak up top? Its a 94 pickup manual 22re

the shop prolly filled it from the top and put too much in. this is why you should learn to replace that kind of stuff your self.

The seal that i had them replace was the pinion seal that comes out of the t-case. They should have filled it from the bottem instead of taking my shift lever out.... Unless they thought it would b easier....... I'm suprised by whomever filled it didnt' cause any problems. Unless the transfer case isn't like oil in a engine.......

Huh?

They should have filled it by the filler plug, they probably did but just put to much in causing to much pressure so it pushed some oil out of your shifter seal.

I would like to know how they got that much oil pushed in there through the filler plug, w/o it pouring back out. I mean allot came out of the filler plug when i took it off..... The only way that i can think of is that they filled it from the top and left the filler plug screwed in.....
