To be honesty why would you want to swap from a 3.0 to a 22r. I understand the 3.0 sucks but why a 22r, why not a 22re? Or even the 22re with the turbo lol jk

3.0 swap to 22r

Im not sure the tranny and t case will bolt in. It should. it all looks the same. But if you are luckey you can find out what tranny your 3.0 has behind it and see if there was a turbo 22re made that year w your same trans. Then serch out the bellhousing they bolt right up to any 22r or re. the motor mounts are way back so you must weld aftermarket 22r engine mounts on the frame. they come pre fit for $30 ea just weld em in. Good luck

You'd be looking at new motor mounts and crossmember for the transmission, minimum.

Bolt in a 3.4 instead. It fits the engine bay, will bolt up to your tranny, and has more power/fuel economy than the 3.0. It's been documented a hundred times and would probably take less time than the swap to the 22R.
