Yours should be changed every 60K miles. I have heard of some lasting well past 100k though.

It all comes down to being ale to afford it. I have never done a toyota, but I know my car was $$$$ I think mine ran about 600 or so. But I would hate to wait and have to fix more because of a broken belt.

I did my timing belt my self and just paid $20 for the new belt and did it in 7 hrs by myself had no problem and now my truck runs better. and it is best to do it before it breaks and causes other problems like WSUWESTON said

I have timing chains....anyway IMO you should change it, if it breaks you run the risk of toasting your engine and that would kind of suck if you are out in BFE.

the little sticker on mine says 127k miles was when it was changed.

also on the 3.0 it is a none interference motor and if the belt breaks it should not damage the motor you have to worry more if it where the 22 r or 22re they are interference motors.

I would change it and also change the waterpump and all drive belts while you are at it. Peace of mind.

Stop spreading misinformation. If you don't have a definitive answer to the OP's question, don't post garbage that will only further confuse him.

1. The 3vze timing belt should be replaced every 60k. It's also a good idea to replace the water pump while you're in there.

2. The 3vze is a non-interference engine. A broken timing belt will not damage any other part of the engine.
