yes those are stock, they are chrome trim pieces that are useless as a "flare"

I have those on my ride

There were the no flares on the base and then the SR5s had either the chrome/rubber strip or the skinny black plastic flares or the painted widebody on the Limiteds.

I love a trimless white or silver 3rd Gen 4runner. Probably my favorite of all generations

Thanks man. Sliders will get put on in the spring with the 33's and some armor. But i love that i have no flares, only problem with that is i have to run 10.5's or 11.5's because the state law requires that you wheels can only go 1/2'' outside of your fenders.

This thread is based on 3rd gen 4Runners, not 2nd gens.

All dependant on the sub-generation (96-98, 99-00, 01-02) of the 3rd generations.
Seems like sometimes it was a crap shoot on what you got yet for some sub-gens certain combo's were more prevalent.

The base models did have options and I think the skinny black flares could be had on the base models.

This is my dads (see sig)

Hmmm,I think that chrome trim might be aftermarket and i don't remember 4Runners having the rubber door trim to protect for door dinks.
