Tax Return Goodies

Hey guys (and gals too), I am new to this forum. I am getting my tax return soon and want to spend some of it on my Toy!

Here are my options, I live in Colorado....which from the sounds of it we are in for up to a foot of snow in the next 24-48 hours, oh boy time to play! I want some ground clearance without breaking the bank. I am in need of new shocks as the ride is pretty poor plus my tires are just about bald...my ? is, what can i do to increase ground clearance? i currently am running 265/70/17s on a 2003 Limited V6 4R....Non xreas. I have heard a lot about spacers and such technology. Would this be a good idea? If i went for it, should i upgrade the shocks as well or will the stock ones be adequate? Im not looking at trying to conquer massive trails...but i do want a bit of clearance both when i head up camping and also when we have crazy snow storms of two-three feet. Also should i go bigger with tires? Your thoughts would be welcome! And thanks in advance!!!!
