Tacoma lift question

My buddy has a Toyota Tacoma and is looking to lift and put 32 or 33's on it and doesn't want to spend a arm and a leg for the lift. Do any of you have an idea of what he should be looking for. Any help would be great I have searched on TTORA forum but thought I would ask around here too. Thanks!

the cheap way to go is to get the toytech spacers and shackles around 300 bucks. The more expensive way to go is the OME stuff with would be about 750 dollars. if u need more lift a 4crawler BL is a good way to go.

To get the 33's to fit without rubbing will take a 1" BL, as just the new springs and/or spacers dont really allow for more tire, unless its purely a street queen.

All he needs is around 2.5 inches of lift to clear 33x10.50s or 32x11.50s. He may also need to trim/pound the pinch weld area a bit to prevent rubbing. 33x12.50s will require around 4-5 inches of lift or more substantial fender well trimming to clear.

Those tires will likly clear w/out lift, as a 2.5" lift is not a bracket lift and therfore does not add more clerance for tires, just imporved handelilng offroad, and increased clearance/ride height...

i think you'd rub but it shouldnt be too bad. maybe some pinch weld pounding if that applies for your year or some trimming. i'll bet you rub at full turn though

The 7" rim is a bit narrow for 11.50's, but a buddy of mine did it for a couple years with no weird wear on the tires... as far as rubbing, he would kiss the fenderwell and he had about 3" at the time...
