suspension

Thinking of putting some new front and rear shocks in an attempt at a cheap way to improve my non existent suspension on my 94 toyota pickup. I've been doing some research and its seems like a pretty easy job. From what I can tell the main things I need are some jack stands and a jack. Is it as easy as it appears or are there some things I should know?

There not really hard at all... i just did my and it took 10 to 15min's to do my on my toyota. And yes that all you really need is a jack and a stand too. If you have IFS and doing your strut's your going to take a few mins they are a pain to put on.

Remember that shocks will not fix sagging ride height, ability to soak up speed bumps, or ability to carry loads. If your springs is bad, your springs is bad.

Will give you better handling and a flatter truck when you're turning though.

You did the bounce test yeah? Press down on every corner of the truck then let go. If it bounces more than once before it settles, your shocks are donezo.

You goin with Bilsteins?

The reason I'm changing them is because I was taking some corners on the freeway and the truck was leaning bad, felt like it was gonna tip. As far as brand, I'm just going with some "mid" priced ones from autozone. Not getting any performance parts or anything like that.

^^ Also check your to see if your sway bar is still attached, or if the bushings are worn out. New bushings will also help with body roll.

if you still have too much body roll after the new shocks, you may want to consider timbren, especially if you haul

^^^^ this. If it contiues to bounce up and down after you hit a bump, then it's shocks. If it's just a crappy ride all around, you're springs are shot (and maybe shocks too).
