I am in the process of changing outer wheel bearing. I ordered all newadjustment nuts claw washer and lock washer but the adjustment nuts will not screw back onto the spindle at all. Think spindle is stripped?

Have to see it to know for sure. Pics would help. Also helps to know what we are working on...

But I've always easily nutted my spindle. Has to be just perfect....then presto...magic.

Red face

They have to be lined up just perfect.

Sometimes flipping them 180 degrees will get them started

sorry its a 95 t100 dx 4wd. I will try to get pics later but its like the nut wont even start on it, either the top part of the nut will be on and not the bottom or vice versa and when I turn it it just pops off. the factory ones were complety striped inside the the nut so bought new ones from Toyota and cant get them on either I just feel like im going to end up stripping them out too. I just cant imagine it would be this hard to screw a nut back on but maybe theres a trick to It I don't know or its just stripped. and apparently you can get tht piece, Toyota said I have to buy that whole knuckle assembly with that part on it?

If the factory ones were stripped then your spindle threads are probably screwed up. Someone may have tried to gun then on with an impact. How hard was it to take the old ones off??

Ok. If you can chase the threads and make it work go for it. Tedious, especially if you don't have a tap and die set . Otherwise buy new spindles

When i put the hub assembly with the bearings back on all the way back it has so much play but when it pull it forward its tight. That doesn't make sense bcus when the wheel is on it will be loose and the rear seal won't be closed and grease going everywhere

Ill take some pics tomorow morning. I just thought it was odd that its tight when pulled out s little but when the hub and rotor are pushed all the way back its extremely loose.

It shouldn't move at all along the axis of the spindle. It should obviously rotate though. If the spindle threads are damaged you'll likely need to replace the spindle. Grab one from a junkyard. Don't drive it until it is fixed. You don't want a wheel coming off.
