Just had a strange problem with the starter manifest over the last few days.
So after playing around in a little mud and snow I shut the truck down. The very next time a tryd to start the truck i got nothing, no click, crank wasn't turning, nothing but a low humm from the area of the starter. i Investigated and finally got it to fire by have a buddy crank it while i jiggle the starter wire. Since then somtimes it fires up no problem, somtimes i have to use the previously described method. Does any one have anay ideas or input? Thanks

 

also the starter has recentley been replaced

 

Unless the new starter is bad, what you describe almost sounds like an electrical issue.

Good connections? Good ground?

 

I would check the connection to the starter solenoid as described below:
