Do you have a 2 bank system, either a v6 or a v8? If not, you can't do x pipes.

Second, legality depends COMPLETELY on where you live.

So, what you need to do is post your truck, engine, and location.

Most likely, they are illegal.

Okay. So yeah, you could do "x" pipes. Probably not worth the effort.

Get a flowmaster. It'll sound "cool" and still be legal. You can check the laws in your state, but for the love of all that is good, run a muffler. Straight pipes sound so idiotic.

straight pipes sound cool, but you lose low end power.

and to get your keys out, find someone with a slim jim, if they know what they are doing it takes less than 10 seconds to get in.

I definitely wouldn't run straight pipes...you'll lose power and it will sound terrible. Get a Vortex muffler from Jason Burtman (www.burtmanindustries.com) and call it good.

As far as the keys go...if it were me, I would call your dealer with your VIN and get a key made...slim jims can really mess up stuff if not done right.

Just my $.02,

Fink

Not sure for TAco's but I know on my Runner i couldn't run without a cat because it has 2 o2's and it wouldn't run right without it plus the check engine light stays on. Straight pipes are simply that and you can get them at any muffler shop probably in the 2.25 diameter. You can look up hi-flo cat's by magnaflow or other manufacturers and x2 on the VORTEX from Jason B.

Can't say that the HI-flo changes tone, i did it after my VORTEX, but i can say that it makes it more free flowing and breathe more than that 30 gallon tank of a cat toyota puts on there. "vortex is really loud and to some people obnoxious." I love my exhaust loud, besides...i sound dampened my whole interior with dexdamp the stuff they sound proof airplanes with-so idon't here the drone or exhaust unless the windows are down.

"my neighbors definately know when i come and go, lol."

My exhaust smelt like rotten eggs when i bought my rig, it just needed some TLC and i decided to replace everything back. After the HI-flo the Vortex got much louder or i just got a heavier foot!
