Stock suspension swap question

Firstly, I might as well make an introduction since it's always good to do so on a first post. I'm James, I live in Oregon, and I have a '99 Tacoma TRD. I've lurked here a few times, and have found some really great info and advice... perhaps I'll be able to dispense a bit of advice or some tips at some point as well!

To get on with it though... as I stated, I have a '99 4WD Tacoma TRD. A great truck, but it drives like a marshmallow- that is, it bounces around quite a bit, sags with just a small amount of weight in the bed, really just needs new suspension all the way around.

I found a full suspension set off of a 2008 4WD Tacoma TRD, and it seems pretty reasonably priced. So my question is this- does anyone here know if I could simply do a bolt-on swap with the '08 suspension onto my '99? would the struts/coils fit just right and bolt up in the front, and would the springs bolt right up in the rear?

I apologize if this has been touched on before, but I did a search and didn't find what I was looking for. If it has been posted and answered before, please paste a link in this thread.

Thanks!

Hi Elton, and thanks for the welcome! I'm in Hood River. I kind of feared that the newer stuff wouldn't work, but thought it was worth a shot since they look like a pretty good deal, and I really need to do something about the bounce. Hopefully I can get a few more confirmations from others as well.

Yeah, the top hat diameter is different on the new style (05+) trucks.

That said, stock parts are a dime a dozen as people put on lifts. Check the classifieds on here and www.ttora.com

Thanks for the tips folks! I'll check out the classifieds. I'm not specifically looking for a lift, but if I ran across a good deal, and it happened to lift my truck a bit, then I'd probably go for it.
