solenoid / starter help!?

solenoid / starter help!?

alright so im pretty sure my solenoid is bad because i put the key in the ignition and all it does is click! i know where my starter is so when i go to pull it it is buried in the abyss off AC lines and whatnot!!! so pissed how hard is it going to be to pull this starter on my 95 4runner 3.slow i dont want to pay $300 to have someone else do this if you can help it would be very appriciated

there is an access pannel on the passenger side fender pannel..
Pull that off and it should make it easier.

yeah i did that and everything but there are so many hoses in the way it is ridiculous and i really dont want to take off all those pessurized hoses

When you pull it you are most likely going to have to reach up from teh bottom and pull it down..

alright so i dont take it out from the side do it from the bottom but should i just unhook everything from the side and pull it from the bottom?

I know this is too obvious, but can you jump it? Usually this is just a low battery symptom.

that was the first thing i tought and check the battery and even charged it and cleaned all the terminals it didnt work

Yes jsut look around you should be able to get it out without even disconnecting other things...

I just installed my starter on my 3.4 swap with the sas and it was ridiculously easy, but i remember struggling with it when it was stock..

It could still be the battery; go get it load tested.

It would suck to go through all that work just to find out it was something simple, like a battery.

same thing happened to me, the cable was too loose on the terminals. another time, the battery was screwed, inside lights worked but the battery didn't have enough juice left to start it.

You can often replace the solenoid contacts with the starter sitting on the frame rail:

its not the battery or connectors i just did a load test and it was fine and cleaned all the connectors so it looks like im pulling this biznatch out
