i dont see a hangar bar on that muffler (but im lookin at it on my little phone). what is supporting the weight of that unusual dual outlet muffler??

if there's enough flange on that muffler, you can buy a 45 degree adapter pipe and 2 exhaust clamps and fix that break for like $10 with a socket wrench. but you really want to support that muffler with something, even a universal hangar anywhere to the body will work.

unless a shop owes ya for a recent install they did. make sure the muff is supported, not just the pipe in front of it. good luck

Red face

Looks to me like the muffler just pulled off the pipe .

Like maybe the clamp was never put on or was not tightened .

Both pieces look to clean to have rusted off.

Better to have to many hangers then not enough .

Lack of hangers can put pressure on the manifold causing to to break what a pain to replace.

Good luck

I don't see the point of a dual outlet muffler if you're just going to have turn downs right at the outlets

Wait, you need hangers for your exhaust?

Yes, but a muffler adds tone. A good muffler will take away all the rasp. I prefer the opposite of what you prefer. I love my Magnaflow muffler/no-cat combo. It's true perfection. But I don't want to start another "muffler/cat vs. no muffler/cat" debate...

I don't know much about my truck I'm learning as I go, when I went there I asked him what would sound good and he told me some options I picked what I thought was best when he put it on it sounded good so I was satisfied. I'm a girl and the guy screwed me over because he knew I wouldn't know the difference.

I'm only running the no muffler/ with a cat because my exhaust rusted off right behind the cat cheaper to leave it that way than fix it

Straight pipe? Why even have a straight pipe? Just take all the exhaust off, including the manifolds and have it exit right out of the head

You should have come here first! We would have been delighted to suggest what muffler to use Out of curiosity, was it a like a friend who did the work or an actual auto shop? I hate it when auto shops think women are stupid and try to sell them upscale/unnecessary parts.

Does Arizona do smog checks/ vehicle inspections? If not then it doesn't matter if taking the cat off is illegal. We don't have either in Florida, but it is illegal to go without a cat or a muffler, most people don't pay attention to that law because its not enforced.

Definitely add some hangers to your exhaust whatever you do.
