...ok, that's horrible advice. I would check state laws. In Maryland, IIRC it's ok to remove it as long as the vehicle passes the state emission requirements. They don't even look under the vehicle to see if the converter is in place while testing. However, the requirements are so strict that you basically need the converter to pass. They do offer historic plates for vehicles 20 years or older. Basically you don't have to do state inspections or emissions testing. The historic plates are literally the only good thing about the state of Maryland.

It's just the combination of the turndown and the dual outlet. I can see having a dual outlet muffler if you're going to run tailpipes out the back to give an illusion of a true dual exhaust. But having turndowns right after the dual outlet seems a bit unnecessary. A single outlet with a turndown would have been fine. You're probably not gaining anything with the second outlet. But that's just my opinion. I'm anal and weird about a lot of things

Jackie you have a 1993 toyota Pickup. 3.0 V6 engine with a 5spd transmission.
Your exhaust is a Flowmaster 30 series 2.25" inlet with Dual 2.25" outlets.
You need to remove the converter as soon as possible. Do not put a magma flow on that Toyota. You will not like the sound of it. I grant you that. Once you remove your converter your truck will sound 10 times better. Your in love with the sound if mine. I'm running the Flowmaster single in dual out with no convertor. I can tell you that the tail pipes will change the sound alot too. If you set yours up like he did mine then you will enjoy the sound. Tell him to do the same to yours. If he can't remember I can send you pics so he remembers again lol.

those are really ugly looking welds on your hanger brackets.
I would keep your eye on them so they don`t break and fall off causing even more grief.
The rattle sound is most likely the heat shield on the converter.
I would guess the double turn down muffler was what they had in stock so that is what you got.

I don't get how some people determine the kinds of mufflers, just by looking at them, especially if they have no markings on them. I'm not saying Toyota Boy is wrong or anything. He actually may be onto something. Before when I was looking at the pics, I really wasn't looking for markings. There are no markings on your muffler, so it really could be anything. Either that, or I'm just not seeing the markings in your pics. You say it come out of a Magnaflow box and you paid for a Magnaflow. I don't doubt that one bit. The funny thing is...every Magnaflow I've ever seen has the name stamped on both sides of the case. Like mine:

Or this random single in/dual out that I did a quick search for:

I've seen pictures of Magnaflow "chambered" mufflers online without markings on them, but they looked like CAD drawings, not the real thing. I think Toyota Boy is right that it's not a Magnaflow. Whether or not it's a Flowmaster 30 series...I have no clue. It sounds that he's pretty certain about it.
Something about all this seems fishy to me.
I love you guys!
