simple tire rotation question

I recently acquired an '05 V8 4Runner. Simple question: Do the front tires wear faster on these? The fronts on mine have a lot more tread than the rears, but I'm assuming that's because they weren't rotated until recently. If the rears wear faster I need to rotate them now.

No the front wear less (If its 2WD), if it s a 4WD its a little more equal (V8's have full-time).

Our vehicles are RWD, so the tires wear out quicker because they put the power to the pavement.

Every car I've owned be it front wheel, rear wheel or all wheel drive, the fronts wear faster.

Weird, lol. all of ours are depending on the drive train. I'm totally serious too. On me and my mom's 4 runner, the rear wars quicker, and on my dad's accord the front wears quicker.

Same is for the SUV's i see at school in fact I saw this SUV with basically bald rears and brand new lokin' front tires. I asked her "do you ever rotate your tires?" "Duh... they're round rubber things that rotate...why would I need to rotate them?"

I agree that the drivetrain would make the difference. Any fellow 4th gen. V8 owners that could chime in here?

If it turns out that the rears wear faster I'm afraid I'll wind up with 2 worn out tires back there and 2 new ones up front before I can tell for myself how they wear. Two new tires still on the truck will make it more difficult to convince SWMBO what is truly needed is 5 new ATKO's in a larger size.

Thanks!

...everytime i drive they rotate

depends on the type of driving.
lots of slow in-town driving = many turns the F will wear faster. if you got a lead foot = then the R will.

I think tire wear really depends on how you drive and of course rotating every 6K. Take corners and curves really fast and the fronts are gonna wear fast.

stopping and turning accounts for most of front tire wear, i have never seen a vehicle that wore out rear tires first under normal driving conditions.
