Simple LED wited to a switch --- Why won't it work?!
#21
Thanks again for the help.
Slo6i, I hadn't thought about using a relay, maybe that's a good thing to try, thanks for the diagram. Just to be clear, I know for certain that the switch is working because like I said, it is the same switch I'm using for my inverter, which I tested immediately before I tested it on the LED (not yesterday like you say), and I tested it again on the inverter afterwards...works perfectly.
Rad4Runner - thanks again for the input. I tested the LED without the switch immediately before testing it with the switch...worked perfectly. I also tested it afterwards, still works. I have the positive and negative labeled. You say I should throw the switch away. I don't see how the switch could be bad? You say its because of resistance, so a different switch with less resistance may work? The switch is so small I have a hard time believing this is the problem, but maybe you are right.
I don't have a multimeter, are they expensive? I think I'll try the relay tonight, I'll let you guys know how it goes.
Thanks again!

I know you can get them fairly cheap at Harbor Freight, around 10 or 11 buck. Sometimes you can get a coupon and get one for like $5. I've tested my cheap Harbor Freight multimeter against my expensive one and they are fairly accurate.
