Shackles are so you can mount leaf springs to your frame.

What year/ kind of truck do you have?

im assuming your talking about 4 inches longer than stock..? that will net you about 2 inches of lift.. and it will also jack your pinion angles up and throw off the LSPV in the rear braking system..

longer brake lines.. pinion shims.. u-bolt flip kit.. all pretty much a necessity for a shackle lift.. cause you wont stop there.. youll want springs and that will lead you to crossover steering

modding is addictive.. but i wouldnt have it any other way

The shackles are 4" and all I really want is a cheap way to lift my truck and fit 33" tires under it so is this a good way to go? How much do u thj k it will cost for everything? I already have extended brake line and shackles
If not this I am goingto do a 3" body lift

Do it right the first time, if you do it too cheaply, you'll end up doing it again...

for chevy's youd need to relocate the front leaf spring perch forward and the rear one back.. also would need RUF or some other way of getting lift in the front.. you can do a BL with shackles and chevy's .. i mean if you wanted that ..

for 33's.. a 2 inch shackle lift and a 2 inch body lift would cut it.. thats the cheapest route imho..

close to 4" all around... plus a 2" longer than stock shackle will give you another inch.. an even 5 would factor in sag and uptravel and give your 33's room to stuff

The 63's will require relocating both front and rear mounts. I really want to do this one

I have 5 year old Downey 3 inch springs all the way around and Downey's 3 or 4 inch shackles and my front tires will rub still when things get twisty. And they are just 32's.
Its super flexy but needs a little more lift to clear 33's. I like how low it sits except when stuffing tires.
In my case, I think a 2 inch body lift would fix me up.
Moving the front axle forward an inch and a half or so would really help out with clearance because as the spring compresses it lengthens and the shackle leans back pulling the axle rearwards. This causes your front tires to rip into the rear of your wheelwell.
IFS rigs don't have to deal with the lateral movement of the front axle/tires and can get away with less lift to clear the same size tires.

If your front springs are already going negative arch then I would replace them. Never tried the rears up front but would give it a try on a budget. I think you will need to weld a spacer to your driver side front spring perch. There's info on that here somewhere.

so i installed a rough country 3" lift, and i am wondering if i should get extended brake lines? Also i want to get a little bit more lift, so if i do new shackles say 2" longer than stock what will that do for me? Will i have to get the extended brake lines? Also i read somewhere that you can remount the brake mounts so that u dont have to buy longer brake lines, is that true?
