Ok, not a newb but have some questions about Seafoam:

Truck is an '81 with a 22R
-Pour 1/2 the bottle down the carb with engine running (Cold engine) and the other half in the gas tank?

-can it be used in the crankcase?

I think its goes by 1/3s, for gas, oil, vac

 

to temp engine. i did about 1/2-1/3 in the carb. just dont pour it in there i found if you put your thumb over the end with a small silt between the edge of your thumb and the edge of the can opening tilt it so that it vents up by your thumb knuckle and pours out by about the beginning of your thumbnail it pours nicely down the tip of your thumb in a smooth stream. i have not done it in the crankcase, have heard it tends to open up small gasket leaks due to removing some of the gack from them. i would use half now in the carb then wait a week and do it again in the carb or you can pour the rest in the gas and in about 1 or 2 gas fill ups i would change the plugs.

I ran about 1/2 can through the brake booster and the rest in the tank. Made quite a difference. Did this to the truck, Runner, and a crown vic. could tell a difference in all of them. Mostly on idle and start up.

I'm not sure about adding to the crank though...I think I'm going to pass on that, and skip the usage in the auto trans as well.

I ran it through my 87 the other day. 1/3 in the booster, 1/3 in the gas, 1/3 in the oil. She smoked alot for a bit on start up, idle is a little smoother now, off idle acceleration smoother, and start up got a little quicker. I can hear my valve tick now and some how got an exhaust leak right at the bend at the end of the manifold after using it.

Overall, I'd only use it if your truck still runs like poo after a tune up, or you have 200K + miles on your 22R (E) Not that drastic of a change for me to spend 9 bucks on otherwise.
