Screw lugs on lower dash panel

Does anyone know if these serve a purpose? 60mm apart. I searched through all of the trim gutted from my 4Runner but I cannot find anything that looks like a fit. There are no thread marks in the holes yet they look suited for that purpose. ?? I reversed the first two photos to match LHD instead of RHD.

I'm not sure which trucks/trim levels have it and which don't, but there's a vent outlet that can go there. It takes some of the air that would have gone to the vent nearest the window and blows it right between your legs. Sounds like a nice feature during the summer but in my experience there's not enough flow to actually feel anything. I'll grab a picture later if no one beats me to it.

Cheers! Thanks for that info and the photo. I can see mine has the provision for the duct. I doubt if this option made it to Australia. Might fashion a bracket between air duct and dash panel to add a bit more rigidity as it tends to have a bit too much flex.
