SAS Swap Cost

SAS Swap Cost
I'm sure this has been posted a 100 times, but does anyone know what a shop would charge to do a straight axle swap? I'm debating gettin a couple of friends together and having it be one of those 3 month projects or taking it to a shop. I gotta get it done fairly quick because its my daily driver. I'd buy the marlin sas swap kit and take it in the shop to have it installed.
So how much do ya guys think it would cost?
Thanks!

The job can be knocked out in 10-12 hours. Shops rates differ from place to place. We are 60 an hour at our shop other shops may charge up to 100 an hour. I could probably knock out a sas kit in about 8 hours. Dont let some shop tell you its a 20 or 30 hour deal. What are your plans for the rear?

In a weekend id do it. With the buddies it's cheaper and saving you time for a shop to do it. I myself haven't done it yet. But everyone is right of you've got people who are good welders and know what to do it can take just a weekend

people who rush things like this usually screw up something or make it look like crap.
find a shop with a good reputation and talk with the person who would be doing the work and get a feel for the guy.
just remember when you take a vehicle for a mod like this at a shop they want it done and out the door and THEY dont have to deal with it after they are done....you do.

Depends entirely on what parts you bring the shop and how much work they have to do. Just think of showing up to a shop with a bunch of dirty junkyard parts in unknown condition vs showing up with brand skanking new TG housings etc...big difference in labor just on the axle housing itself. Figure anywhere from $2-8k depending on what you want done, higher end would be for like a linked suspension plus the parts cost more.

Yes , there are probably more built out 4x4's in the Sacramento to Fresno area than anywhere else in the U.S.
It's funny I live in Silicon Valley , land of the Prius and BMW , and my truck sticks out like a sore thumb . But when I drive out to the western Sierra through the central valley , I see rigs like mine everywhere ... I feel like im at home .

Is it out of the question entirely to do it yourself/with help? I bet you could find some help in the local sections. We used to have install parties with local members and whoever's vehicle we were working on was responsible for the beers and grub.
Here's part one of what these guys did
The rest will pop up when you watch this one...(yey YouTube!)
