'RR Diff Lock' good as any other rear locker?

I've got the factory diff lock on my rig. But I was just wondering if there are any pros/cons to say... a truck just like mine without the factory, but any other kind of locker in the back (ARB, Aussie, LockRite, etc.)? I'm not at all looking to make any changes if you're thinking that, but just wanted to know about it. Thanks!

Its leaps and bounds better then an auto locker. Some say its not as nice as an ARB since they take longer to engage.

I think they are the best since you can always switch them into the locked or unlocked position even if the little motor is hooped.

Its also leaps and bounds easier to break than an auto locker, and not as reliable.

Everyone thinks auto lockers (lunchbox and full lockers) are horrible on the street and horrible in the snow, but they aren't imho. I'm running a lunchbox and a detroit in mine, and love them. Sometimes you get a pop here or there but nothing like dealing with my broken elocker and arb.

I havnt seen many broken e-lockers.. infact most of the breakage ive seen is at the axle shaft themselves.

Don't forget ive been running a lockright for 3 years on my DD. I know what they are like..

I'd take the elocker over the autolocker any day of the week..

That's good, so you're saying the factory one is very similar if not a little better than any other kind?

The E locker on my '05 Taco was tempermental at times. It was nice to have but an ARB would be a better option IMO. E-Locker motors can be spendy...

Why are you making this hard and over analyzing it?

You've already got it, and it's selectable... Which means it's not on 100% of the time... So it's not even comparable to a pocket locker?

In fowl weather you don't have to worry about it swapping ends...

You have NO slop or backlash in your rear, which pocket lockers DO...

What do you want to hear? Do you know how pocket lockers and E lockers even work?

I think a lot of what you're saying is in context too...

Like: Am I an aggressive off roader? Will my truck see a lot of trails and general off road?

Or; Will I just need it once and a while?

I think the context you will be using a E locker in has a lot to do with how you see it.

I havn't a clue if they are similar in design, but I would prefer it over an ARB.
