There are a couple companies out there that make a kit, you just have to weld it up...check out 4xinnovations.com I believe that's the website and they have one...if not check out All Pro (idk website maybe allprooffroad.com)

Not to discourage you, but unless you fab metal for a living its easier to buy a kit that's pre-made...You'll save sooo much time and a good weld-in cage can be modded to suit your needs, like say frame-ties, or harness mounts..

Really the hardest part to make yourself on a cage is the nice bends by the dashboard where your legs swing in and out.

Can i ask why you want a roll cage? your rig looks stock judging by your profile pictures. Are you planning on "rollling" it soon?

I'd take the money and put it towards armor ( sliders, bumpers, skids ) or maybe some gears, lockers, lift, and tires. Or if you're going for more expedition built, a drawer system and a roof rack.

I wheel my rig pretty moderately and have never felt a need for a roll cage.

just my .02...

Unless your doing 100+ on the highway and you roll over, one would think that the body itself would hold up in the case of a rollover. Otherwise these trucks would have never passed crash testing. That's just IMO though.

I vote pass on the roll bar. ( not trying to burst any bubbles ) if you're going for the cool factor, bumpers will get you the "image" you're looking for. The cage will get old once you bang your head on it a couple times. haha

Another one of my opinions on cages, is you should be running padding on the cage and a helmet. Otherwise it may do more damage to yourself then actually not having one in the first place.

I fully agree with this. I caged my old track car (94 integra) and would never want to drive that thing without a helmet. Even with padding it'll do a lot of damage to your noggin. Roll cage padding is not soft at all, its just meant to spread the impact force on a helmet so that doesn't split in half.

I'd say drop the roll cage idea and do something more functional like sliders and skids.

I'm on my second 4Runner and the very first thing I did was get tube bumpers and sliders. Then a locker.
