anybody put the mirror with temp. an compass in a 3rd gen. tacoma. dealer told me they didn't start putting them in til " 05".

 

if it's the same generation as the '05, you should be able to buy one off of e-bay and install it yourself. i did almost the same thing, just with a different truck and mirror (link)

 

Is there wiring in the taco for the temp guage?

 

i dont think so. i searched around quite bit an havnt come up with much. the only thing i found was a kit from mito corporation. the mirror comes with temp, compass, an i believe its auto dimming but cant remember. the kits around 250.00 an comes complete with everything, mirror, harness, probes. its a gentex mirror that comes factory in quite a few vehicles.

 

Why I am curious do you feel you need this?

I can think of other things I would upgrade first but thats me

 

no particular reason i just like the option in the wifes camry. got used to lookin at when i drive it once in awhile. i'm curios what would you upgrade first?

 

personally, (if i had the time and money) i would build a custom center overhead console. or modify one from another car. realistically, go for it. i installed another rear-view mirror, and gained nothing more than 2 more lights. if there was an option for compass/thermometer, i would install that...
