r150-r155 transfer cases

I'm currently working on rebuilding my 87 4runner I bought last year. I've got a 3rz already swapped in mated to to the stock w56. I'll probably be making a build thread in the near future. However, I am planning on going boost at some point in the future and would rather not eat up the w56, so I am planning on doing an r series transmission with the 2tr bellhousing. As I understand, The r151f is the most sought after, however also the rarest. The r150f is somewhat common and would work fine for what I am doing. I noticed, however, that 05-15 tacos, which are starting to show up in junkyards now, use an r155. These would be newer, possibly easier to find, and assumably lower mileeage than most r150s I could find. They also use a lower fist gear than the r150s. This is all hypothetical since I have not actually started my search. Here's the problem though: tacos have the driveshaft going down the drivers side, whereas my 4runners' diff is on the passenger side. So here is my question: are the transfer cases on the r150f, r151f, r155f, etc interchangeable with each other?
Does anyone think I should just stick with the w56 and keep my fingers crossed? Find an R150f and rebuild it? Any input on what that should cost?
Thanks!

No responses? I'm now posed with a similar problem. I'm throwing a set of '85 axles under a '77 Chinook, however I have a smashed up 2009 with a 2TR/R155F and Tcase (what's the name of this case btw?). I really want to run these axles and keep it all toyota, however at the same time, I'm now worried about the exhaust clearance issues with front driveshaft and having it overloaded to one side. It sure would be nice to throw the whole driveline in as one piece.. Do I abandon the plans of using these axles and frankenbeast it with a dana 30 front? I guess thinking about it now, didn't the 77/78 Wolverines run a D30 front axle? With the 20R/4spd and divorced Tcase, wouldnt that setup have had the exhaust and front driveshaft both on the driver's side?
