So i have my 22re taken apart waiting for parts to come. The head is off the block and the pistons are exposed. It's in a garage but I'm sure I'll be wating for parts for another week. I'm just spraying everything down with a light coat of oil and covering the motor with clean rags. Sound OK?

Thanks

YOu wont even need the oil. Keeping it in the garage will be fine.

As long as you dont have it outside with the hood off, all is well. I have rebuilt engines that took a week or two because of time issues, and didn't have them in the garage. It takes much longer than one week for rust to develop at a harmful level.
