Questions on dual transfer cases

Ok guys been looking around and found a set of transfer cases already matted together, from a 81 or so 4spd tranny. All is up for sale, and listed at 1 grand OBO.

I have a 1991 22re with 5spd tranny, and was wondering if I could swap out the transfer cases and mate it to my tranny.

I have read so much about this stuff on the forums and confused myself more than educate myself about it.

I do think the grand they want is going to be to much, and may see if the will sell just the transfer cases since I have no use for the tranny.

The transfer case from the 4spd will not bolt up to your 5spd trans.

You need to know whether you have a top shift or forward shift. If you have a geardriven t-case yes it should bolt up Toyota used the RF1A t-case from 79-95. If you have the chaindriven gear box no it won't bolt up. So you will need to research.
