Question About Lift/Tires 06 4Runner

I'm sure that this is a stupid question, but it's my first post, so it's to be expected. I have a 06 4Runner SR5. I want to lift it about 2.5-3 inches.

Would this do the actually lifting of my truck?

http://www.burtmanindustries.com/zoo..._03_up_liftkit

And, another dumb question. Is there a size difference between P265 tires, and LT 265 tires. When I put the lift on it, I want 32 inch tires. Would that be LT265/75R/16 ? For these wheels.

http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/4runnerwheels.htm

Thanks guys.

but.... yes, those are part of what lifts your vehicle
search "spacer lift" or "front spacers" or "spacers" or something for more info

in theory those are 31.65 inches....
Tire Size Calculator

read this

LT = Light Truck.

A snorkel re-routes your air intake from its stock location in the engine bay to a higher location. A snorkel is a good preventative to hydro-locking your engine when you go through a water crossing.

So a LT265 would be bigger than a P265?

Not necessarily. I think it's actually a higher load rating.

Ok thanks man.

Which one of these lift kits would you guys recommend? Price doesnt matter.

http://www.burtmanindustries.com/zo...n_03_up_liftkit

OR

http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/03uprevtek4runner.htm

And those both are the only things I would need to buy to lift it right?

ok, so it looks like with your year 4runner, and the xreas system, a spacer lift is better (to avoid xreas problems) vs a longer coil lift.... with a 3rd gen 4runner (you have a 4th gen) its recommended that you also buy a diff drop kit (search if you wanna know) but on the 4th gens 'I' dont know...

the revtek pics show the extended studs and everything that you would seem to need

He has an SR5. It doesn't come with XREAS.

I ordered cornfed spacer kit. I heard good feed back from members here. I will have it install next week. PM me if you have other questions.

spacer lifts are an entry level lift kit solution. Over time they will make your ride harsh. Read up on spacer lift to get real world experiences on those that have/had them. It's the cheapest lift solution available to the market that'll give you instant lift. Long term, you'll want to remove the spacers and look into a more traditional coil/shock solution such as OME. OME lift will give you the same lift (height wise compared to any spacer lift that are 2-3") but retain the stock feel. Please do a search on "OME" and "Spacer Lift" for more details on these solutions. Don't forget to read up on the 4th gen 4runner / 05 + taco section for other details on some other lift solutions which are more $$. you can get 265/75/16 with no lift and not rub if you want to upsize now or you can wait until you get your lift. if you want to go big you can even go 285.75 but do remember that rubbing will occur. 275's may be available but please consult your local tire depo for more info on availabilty.

diff drop. don't need em for the 4th gen 4runner so don't bother searching for that.

Good luck and welcome to yotatech

So I would be better off, longterm, installing the Revtek?

http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/03uprevtek4runner.htm

And this 3" lift would allow LT285/75R/16 tires no problem? No rubbing?

Yet another lift question.

If I were to install a 3" lift on my 06 SR5 4Runner, would my Electronic Stability Control be compramised?

this is the lift.

Thanks.

trying to fit 28t's will mean rubbing - no way around it. Even if you get All Terrains you're still going to rub. It's the nature of getting such a large tire in the small wheelwell. Do a search on the exact specification on what works and does not work as this forum has lots of information documented exactly on what you are searching for.

fyi revtek's are still spacers...
