If its clear coated,that panel will have to be sanded and repainted.

hate to bump such an old post, but I just used the 3M eraser wheel with great success on my 88 pickup decals. I've also used it with great success on my Grand Cherokee WK pinstripes. I had it attached to a good 18V cordless drill and it worked perfectly. Removed all of the decals in under an hour. Spray the area with some goo gone afterwards and wipe down to remove any lingering residue. Works like a charm and a very painless process! One 3M wheel should last long enough to do multiple vehicles.

oh, and regarding the paint fade, there is a slight difference in the paint that was under the decals, but you can only really notice it up close. It is not enough to really bother me. I am going to try to buff the whole truck with some good rubbing compound on my DA polisher and see if that will blend it in. I will post results once I get to it.
