PA Speaker Wiring from a CB?

Hey guys, Im right in the middle of installing a CB with an external PA speaker. Everything is going find besides wiring the PA speaker to the CB. Do I need to ground the speaker? Or do I just run the wires out of the PA straight to the back of the CB. I realize this is a big newbie question but I just cant find anything on it anywhere on the web, and Im going bonkers trying to get this speaker going.

Thanks

Well I had it grounded with one of the two wires going to the CB and one grounded and I was getting nothing. Im just wondering if I need both of the wires to the CB for the speaker to connect to the CB properly.

be careful where you ground it, you don't want to get a lot of interferance noise.

I don't know. I think if you arent running an external amp to it, I don't think you have to. Just ask around a little more before you do anything. I have a CB, but it's not installed, and I would like a PA, but I have no idea how to install it, at least not for the wiring.

i am running a cobra 25 ltd and i went to radio shack and bought a little outdoor pa speaker with like a 15 foot cord and a headphone jack at the end and i just plugged it directly in the back of the cb. And then mounted the speaker on the firewall. The PA speaker is pretty load and was only like 20 bucks

NOOOO... dont ground it. A PA speaker is the same as an other speaker. You HAVE to run the positive AND negative into the radio or it will not work and will prob ruin the speaker.

Well my PA never came with a jack, just two wires. So I guess I have to make a trip to Radio Shack and pick up a jack to sauder to the wires.

Thanks for the input
