OME Springs Stock Shocks

Even though I couldn't find an answer after extensive searching on YT, I still decided to post this in the newbie section, so I wouldn't get ripped a new one by all the search nazis.

I read somewhere (not on this forum) that you cannot use OME springs with stock shocks/struts. Is this true? I don't have the money to upgrade my shocks right now, but still want some lift...96 ltd.

how much lift are you looking for? The 99 coils would give you a little boost.

They say that because the stock shocks don't have the range for the lift, they will bottom out because they literally have no more slack or room to compress/decompress, which negates the effectiveness of the shocks.

Not looking for too much, but more than the 99 springs. I am actually leaning towards the pp 1" springs.

Most OME springs have very minimal lift, depending on application. OME builds all of its components to work together to give you an optimal ride. From what I understand OME shocks are valved to work specificaly with OME springs, that shouldn't mean you CAN'T use other shocks, they just won't give you the ride that using all OME products will.

the 99 coils would give you the same amount i believe.. might be cheaper. Do you have a link to the PP springs?

I've been reading that most people who put these on 4runners other than 99 are getting anywhere from 1.5-2" lift.

I've also been considering the OME 906 in the rear paired with either the tundra springs or the OME 881's in the front.

906's are rated at 2 inches. you should be ok with stock shocks.

how do the homeboys say it..."WEST-SIDE"

Last edited by Psalm 112; Apr 30, 2008 at 03:36 PM. Reason: the regular font does not give WEST SIDE justice
