Oil Pressure Help

Okay so heres the story. (84 22r) I have a crappy mechanical gauge for oil pressure and the line burst the other day. I lost 3qts or so before i knew it . put it back together and every thing seems fine. After 10mins or so of driving when i stop (idle) my o.p. drops to like 5 psi! but as soon as i give it gas or go down the road it jumps right back up 40-50psi. It seems to run the same as it always has, no new ticks or knocks even when it reads 5 psi. Should i worry about this or do you think the gauge is screwy. any help guys thanks.

p.s. there is some air in the line too

What weight oil are you running? I find my '85/22RE pressure drops pretty low (basically to the bottom of the scale on the stock gauge) when the engine is warmed up at idle if I run anything lighter than 10W40. I usually run a 15W40 and the pressure stays in the normal range on the gauge. 22Rs do run pretty low oil pressure at idle, 4.3 psi min. per the FSM.
