Cool Oil overfill from jiffy lube!! Help and advice

Alright guys im a little stressed to say the least. I got an oil change from lame jiffy lube and I checked my oil and its about half an inch passed full. Maybe a couple mms more. Right before that next line with the set of numbers after it. Im assuming its about a quart to quart and a half over. What's your input? Fine? Or drain? If so what's the easiest way, just got my runner. Its a 91 3.0 auto 4x4.

Your engine doesn't care. I always overfill mine since it burns a little. You can drain some out if it makes you feel better.

DIY would be my first choice also (x3 i guess) but if they overfilled you can take it back and tell them to take care of it. They can either crack the plug and drain off some or they can do it over. Make 'em do their job right!

boneheads.... Jiffy Lube always trys to pull some crap with "oh, your battery is dead", "oh, your pcv valve is bad", "your air filter is dirty...." and on and on... vultures...

At least it was only a quart or so, my mom had her oil changed at a shop and they doubled the amount that was required, now THAT can get expensive.

Your lucky they put oil back in it. Best of luck with that drain plug $10 says its either rounded of, stripped out or crossthreaded. DIY

Thanks for the replies guy.. well most of them haha.. my engine will probably care. Well based on my oh so accurate description of the oil on my dipstick, does anyone want to take a look at theirs and guess how much she's overfilled? I have a nice little rear main seal leak so if its only a quart ill take that extra five bucks and let it leak over time ha

Generally from the low mark to the full mark is about a quart to 1.5qt. Crack the plug and drain some out in a clean container.....re-check and add back some if necessary. Done.

Ah guys the J-Team aint that bad, I worked there for about 2 weeks, watching guys struggle doing drive belts and laughing at me when I suggested using the torq sticks when rotating tires and tightening the lug nuts in a star pattern, calling the pit guy their "best mechanic"

Correct, they do care. I just meant that if it's only half an inch above the full line (maybe 1/2 quart) it's not going to destroy his engine. I should have specified.

I'd take it back to Jiffy lube and make them fix it, and NEVER GO BACK. First off, it's REALLY expensive for a simple oil change and the only time i went there they forgot to put oil in. You can do it yourself for under $20. I use walmart oil and purolator filters, and can do the whole job in about 10 minutes. Good luck!

Cool thanks for all the replies guys. She took the extra oil like a champ and I've been driving her around about 3/4 of a liter over id say. Thanks for the extra 3.50 jiffy lube!
