OEM wheel question

Have an 04 sequoia, wondering if the oem wheels have a finish over the steel? The previous owner spray painted the wheels and I want to just throw some aircraft stripper on it but am worried about taking off a finish that may be on the steel. Here's a pic of the wheel with a nickel sized opening where I put some aircraft remover on and what it looks like

there is most likely a clear coat on them originally. if you're aircraft stripping them, it will take it down to bare metal.

I figured that, but I can't find anything that will take off just the spray paint

No I'm not sure, I was also wondering if it was alloy cause of how grainy it looks. Does anything change if its alloy?Pretty sure these are the stock wheels and on edmunds it says the 04 sr5 came with steel but when looking for the same wheel it's saying alloy

They can be stripped, but they are painted and cleared, from what I've been told. So once they have been stripped, they would need to be cleared to keep the aluminum from tarnishing, but painted and cleared would be better.

I believe it would take a lot of work and still the aluminum could come out different shades due to amount of stripper left in certain places. So it'd be best to have a wheel company re-do them, or get something aftermarket.

I'd like a set of those OE wheels myself....
