odd 1998 4runner with 15 inch rims???
I went and had to buy rims because I ordered my tires for 16 inch rims because I was told on here before 98 4runners had a bigger break package and ran 16 rims well come to find out I had 15 inch OEM rims... what could the reason be?

As far as I know, most came with 16"s, but some came w/ 15"s. The door jam tag on my '97 says the original tires on mine were 225/75R15, but it had the stock 16"s on it when I bought it back in '01. Don't know if they were changed by the original dealership as a sales option of if the door jam tag is just wrong.

go to 16 inch rims and then upgrade the brakes to the Tundra retrofit if you like/feel the need.
Even up to 99 some Runners came with 15 inch rims. Typically base or SR5 models I believe it would be.
