Hello,

I am connecting a new "generic" O2 Sensor to my 4runner.

I am at the stage of connecting the existing plug end to the recently purchased generic sensor and ran into a small issue:

The generic sensor has 2 White + 1 Gray + 1 Black wire
The existing plug end has 1 Blue + 1 White + 2 Black wire.

What wires connect to what, especially if Black is ground ?

FYI - I am getting 250Km per 50L tank of Fuel. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What truck and engine do you have ?. sometimes the generic 02 sensors don`t work very well on our engines, i hope its not a Bosch 02 sensor, because there junk.

Bosch does make a bad ass alternator, life time warranty and if the alternator ever leaves you stranded they will cover the cost of the tow truck........

 

The bosch 02 sensors just don`t seem to work well on toyotas, there have been alot of people here that have tryed them and had nothing but problems with them. The OEM 02 sensors seem to work the best for toyotas.

 

It's not that Bosch makes junk parts IMO, it's just a good rule of thumb that German parts don't work as well on Japanese vehicles as Japanese parts like Denso and NGK do. If it were a VW, I'd say Bosch would be one of the best brands to use, but I had a Bosch O2 sensor and Bosch plugs in my 4runner and they simply don't last as long as NGK/Denso parts on our trucks.

3 of the 6 Bosch plugs actually fouled in my engine (I don't have any problems with the NGKs and it's been 2 years) and my new front Bosch O2 sensor started throwing codes within a year.

 

black/grey/white/white corresponds to blue/white/black/black
sig+/sig-/heater/heater

the bosch colors are same as vw/audi.

p.s. if you can return that sensor, get a toyota or denso instead.

auto electrical secret tip: denso for toyota. bosch for vw/audi. i don't know what it is but it's proved to be the case for too many people, too often, to be overlooked.
