O/D Light keeps flashing

Got a 93 4 Runner, V6, 3.0., automatic 4x4. When I drive on the freeway with the O/D on, the O/D light keeps flashing on and off. When I drive on the street with O/D Off, well, the light on the dash stays on (normal). Any ideas of what is causing the O/D Light to flash on and off?

Another question, when I put my suv on 2H or 4L, the 4WD light does not come on. It will also flicker every now and then. So does this mean that my 4WD mode is not working?

It's a transmission error code. Jumper the transmission check connector, and check the service manual for instructions on how to read it.

I don't think it does. There's an "AT Temp" light on the dash for that.

Thanks for all the tips. I just got my yota back yesterday. Did a complete tranny overhaul. The problem was happening b4, so I tried it today and the same thing happened. I will go ahead and check the tranny connector.
