I just picked up an 83' Griffin Edition p/u. My intentions are to create a nice crawler but for right now I need to get it street runnin. It's got a 20r head on a 22r motor. I'm pretty new to wrenchin besides oil, plug and fluid changes. I don't see a smog pump. Does it need one? It runs good but high rpms when I start it and throttle pumpin doesn't bring down right away so not sure about carb issues. Runnin rich too. Any advice would be great guys. Thanks

what state do you live in? what carb does it have?

a good start would be cleaning the carb really well. check all the gaskets and do a tune up.

 

I live in Nevada. The carb need a little tuning but I'm worried about emissions. I want to get everything back on the motor that was supposed to be on it. o2s smog pump ect.. Anyone know a link where I can get all this info?
