Noob saying HI

I recently inheritted my Dads 88 4x4. I know this truck well as I have repaired and maintaned it for him for 15 years. Now that its mine and as I have no other projects to keep me occupied, its time for some changes. It is bone stock and kinda beat. Powertrain is in good condition but paint and body are showing the years of abuse as a rock hauler. Dad did custom flagstone work. I'd like to prerunner it out a little nothing drastic. Pipe bumpers and some fiberglass body parts. I don't want to lift it or put bigger tires on it just replace bent stuff with cooler than stock stuff. I'm on a budget but then who isn't these days. I'm having no luck on evil bay or local CL. Any sugestions would be appriceated.

What part of San Diego are you in?
Out in the El Cajon area there are only 2 shops I take my cars and trucks.
Wheeler automotive-talk to Charlie I've known him 20+years (Also a mid 80's yota owner)
and SCAR off road for anything that needs to be done offroad wise.
Can't beat their rates.
Drop my name and they will hook you up. (Both guys I went to school with)

Oh yea, save your money going down to the junkyards in chula. I've been through them all and most of the trucks are just about stripped minus the doors, cab and beds

I actually am in El Cajon. I do all my own work so don't really need a shop. I'm considering just making my own bumpers and a skid plate. I just wanted to see what was out there first. Since this is fairly new territory for me I don't know which vendors sell what and whats good or junk. I've been a Ford Mustang, Cobra, F100 guy my whole driving life. I'll get some pictures up sooner or later as I figure the ins and outs around here. like the site so far. Haven't really had time to dig in though.

Your not gonna throw the front diff away are you?

Prerunner is not a good thing, just means its 2 beers left of a six pack.

And be honest, its easier for us to help you. Are you going for looks, or for real?

Not a bad thing either way, I own to yotas, ones more looks then the other, but the none looks one will drive through vietnam, through a revolution, 2 riots, a world war, and a golf coarse.

And the pretty one is , well,, she sure is pretty. But the stereo will intimidate a vampire.

Honestly it is my daily driver, well when I'm not on my motorcycle. It is cpable of all the offroading I care to do. So just looks. I don't want to do any suspension mods. I'd like a one piece nose but probably can't afford it. Just think its easier to work on with the nose off. Perceived problem with one piece nose is I'll be driving it everytime it rains. Can the yota handle the extra splash. I had an F100 with a flip nose that didn't like extra water under the hood.
