noob here
hey i am new to yota tech new to toyota's but not new to the offroad scene. ive had a jeep for along time. its well built but old. i do have a dd 94 4runner with 127k miles. what to do the jeep is hacked up and leaks water and just well a pain in the you know where. I have no clue about toyotas and how to build them other than sas. a birfield looks like it belongs on an alien ship. so my question is how hard is it to change my runner into a serious rig. tell me a lil how you guys built em and how theyre better than a jeep. or should i stick with what i know. the v6 is really slow.....

First off, welcome to Yotatech! I must, however, warn you that people are going to get on you about using the search function. Here's a super helpful thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f120...mation-121264/

depends on what you had for a jeep as far as the comparison goes and how hardcore of a rig you want as far as upgrades go. as to how toyotas are better than jeeps just compare your 4runner to a cherokee of the same year as far as offroad capability and durability goes; the 4 runner actually has a frame, the 4 runner comes with a toyota 8in in the back that makes a dana 35 look like a toy and i would bet the toyota ifs would hold up alot better than the jeeps dana 30(i tried breaking my old cv shafts befor i put my new ones in but they just made lots of noise and never poped), and they toyota has alot more ground clearance and clerance for bigger tires stock than the jeep does. the jeep would have better flex in the front because of the solid axle but with rear end of my truck locked eliminating the sway bar ive never really been limited by that. and yes 3.0 is a dog but just tuning it up and opening the exhaust a little went a long way its still no speed demon but it has enough power for what i need. just some of the bigest points that come to mind, drive your toyota awhile and you ll see the light
