Non 3 link coil spring SAS

want to sas my yota, but i wana do coil springs and shocks, however i dont want to spend the money on the linkage. Would it be possible to weld on coil spring and shock mounts on the axle and frame, and not put in linkage? its my daily driver too, and i commute on windy country roads every day, so i dont want to do this if its unsafe or impossible lol
Any advice???
Anyone do anything like this before?

Well, you need something to keep the axle located under the truck. Oil springs have no lateral stability nor so the shocks. That is the purpose of the links attaching and locating the axle under the frame.

From: Nashville TN. I can help you if you're close BUT NOBODY CAN HELP YOU IF YOU DON'T FILL YOUR LOCATION IN!
The links are there only for decoration. Having the front axle spring out like an out of control slinky, that's where it's at...
