I would like to purchase a Toyota 4X4 truck in the next month. I would like to know what to look for in a used truck. Spending 4-7 thousand is the goal. It has to be a V6 4x4. Now for the qustions:

1) Stick or Auto for reliability and towing a 19' jet boat?

2)How many miles are too many? I see 75K to 250K in the price range listed above.

3)If the timing belt breaks is the engine done or will it still have clearance?

4)How hard is it to replace a timing belt on these trucks?

5)Anything else I should watch for when buying a used Tota Truck?

I live in the Dallas Texas area, and I don't really care what generation as long as it runs and looks good. This will be used for trips to Lowes, Home Depot, and to the lake towing a jet boat occasionally.
