Newbie with questions

Hey im having problems with my heater on my 83 22r the blower works but no matter how long i run the truck i cant get it to blow any heat. Any Ideas????
also i was wondering if there is a trick to get that front seal bolt off? i tryed but said screw it after breaking a 3/4 ratchet

Sounds like the heater core might be going bad. i had the same problem in another truck and with a chilton book and acouple hours it can replaced.

Try checking the water shut off on the fire wall, the cable from the control might have come off.

yeah it was kind of seized on i got it opened up but it still doesnt blow heat. just cold air

Is the engine warming up to temp? Could be as simple as a new thermostat.

yeah im gonna try that tomorrow i have a thermostat in a 22re if im right there the same and i will slap that in and give it a try

1st gen heater controls are famous for failing, especially the valve at the firewall...
one thing to do is to flush the coolant system, 30 years of muck can plug the passages..

i put a different thermostat in and it didnt change.

What sort of product do you guys recomend for flushing the system?
